Argentina – April 2026

Location: Iguazu Falls from Argentina - Brasil and San Ignacio, The Iberá Wetlands  (Reserve Esteros del Iberá) and Buenos Aires

PART I – Days 1-4 : Iguazu and Iguazu Falls from Argentina

    •  Visit La Aripuca: La Aripuca is a family-owned tourism venture offering the opportunity to learn more about the region’s nature and Guarani culture. Inspired by an indigenous bird trap, this site features a giant structure made from 30 different species of trees, weighing around 500,000 kilograms. Its mission is to raise awareness about forest conservation and promote reforestation with native species. La Aripuca also supports the local Guarani community by providing a space for the sale of traditional handicrafts.
    • Explore Iguazú National Park: This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an incredible experience, beginning with a visit to the Interpretation Center. Here, you will learn about the significance of the “Y-Guazú” (Great Waters) to the Guaraní people.
    • Journey through the Trails: Traverse the Upper and Lower Circuits that provide close encounters with the most breathtaking waterfalls, allowing you to walk above many of them for a unique perspective.
      Witness the Majestic Devil’s Throat: Visit the renowned Devil’s Throat waterfall, reaching this spectacular sight by taking a scenic train ride through the park. Enjoy the mesmerizing power and beauty of this natural wonder.
    • Hike on Trails in the Heart of the Rainforest: Enjoy the lush surroundings and diverse wildlife while hiking through the vibrant rainforest.
    • Swim in a Waterfall: Refresh yourself by swimming in one of the waterfalls accessible from the trails.

    PART I – Day 5 : Iguazu and Iguazu Falls from Argentina

    •  Visit Iguaçu National Park (Brasil): you will have the opportunity to experience the waterfalls from a unique vantage point, allowing you to rediscover the awe-inspiring majesty of these magnificent cascades.
      Visit the San Ignacio Mini Jesuit Mission: You will explore this remarkable piece of Jesuit history through a captivating nighttime show of lights and sounds. This experience brings to life the era of evangelical colonization of the Guaraní people, which led to the creation of this unique complex. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, this location offers a profound glimpse into a pivotal time in history.

      Day 1: Take an overnight international flight from Montreal to Buenos Aires.
      Day 2: Arrive in Buenos Aires in the afternoon and connect with a domestic flight to Iguazú
      (1 hour and 55 minutes).
      Stay for 3 nights in Puerto de Iguazú.

      PART II – Days 6-8 : Ecotourism at the Reserve Esteros del Iberá

      •  Explore Iberá’s rich wildlife with scenic boat rides on the lagoon to discover this invaluable ecosystem. It is home to significant biodiversity, including several rare, vulnerable, and endangered species. Among these are the broad-snouted caiman (Caiman latirostris), the yacaré caiman (C. yacare), the yellow anaconda (Eunectes notaeus), the comb duck (Sarkidiornis melanotos), the neotropical river otter (Lontra longicaudis), and the marsh deer (Blastoceros dichotomus). This adventure offers a unique opportunity to observe these fascinating species in their natural habitat.
      • Excursion to the lush wetlands.
      • Visit the interpretation center in the town of Colonia Carlos Pellegrini to learn more about the flora, fauna, and the importance of conserving the Esteros del Iberá. Take a hike or horseback ride along nearby trails to appreciate the vegetation and perhaps spot more animals.
      • In Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, you will also learn about its rich cultural heritage, as well as its legends and the unmistakable chamamé, the popular rhythm of Corrientes. Traditional crafts are one of its strengths: basketry in wire mesh, palm, reed, and ysypo, textiles made of wool, knives, Creole ropes, and animal carvings in wood are some of the most representative expressions of this land.

      Day 6: Travel in 4×4 vehicles from Posadas to San Carlos Pellegrini (3 hours).
      Stay for 2 nights in San Carlos Pellegrini
      Day 8: Travel in 4×4 vehicles from San Carlos Pellegrini to Posadas Airport (3 hours).
      Take an internal flight from Posadas to Buenos Aires (1 hour 40 minutes).
      Spend the night in a hostel in Buenos Aires.

      PART III – Days 9-11 : Buenos Aires

      •  Explore the historic center of Buenos Aires and embark on a captivating journey through the city’s rich past and vibrant culture. Visit landmarks such as the Plaza de Mayo, the heart of the city’s political and social life, and the iconic Casa Rosada, the presidential palace.
      • Enjoy a visit to the San Telmo Fair, a popular bohemian and folkloric market offering a wide array of antiques, crafts, street food, and cultural performances. The fair is renowned for its lively atmosphere, featuring tango shows, street performers, and numerous vendors selling unique items.
      • Take a tango lesson where you will learn the basic steps in a simple and fun way to become a “Tango dancer.” Tango, designated by UNESCO as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity,” is a unique and wonderful dance embraced by many people worldwide. Learn the basic steps, the embrace, and the walk with your best friend, and discover the secrets of this passionate dance guided by the best dancers in Buenos Aires.
      • Feel the Argentine passion for soccer with a tour of the Boca Juniors Museum and Bombonera Stadium. Get ready to experience the heart-pounding excitement of Argentine soccer with admission to The Museum of La Pasión Boquense, dedicated to the legendary Boca Juniors. At the Passion of Boca Juniors Museum, uncover the evolution of the iconic jersey over time and explore the trophy room filled with history.OPTIONAL: During your free time in Argentina, for an additional fee, consider attending a local soccer game in Buenos Aires. Depending on the upcoming schedule, we can propose a game for you to attend on that day.

      Stay from days 8 to 10 in a hostel in Buenos Aires.
      Day 10: Depart from Buenos Aires to Montreal.
      Day 11: Arrival in Montreal in the morning.

      • Preps

        Travel documents

        A valid passport that expires at least 3 months after the date of your return flight back home.

        Luggage

        The least amount of luggage possible. We recommend bags that are practical and easy to carry. One large bag and a small day back-pack is ideal.

        Health

        If you need to travel with medication of some kind, please bring a doctor’s prescription.

        Safety

        We recommend you bring a concealed belt that can hold your important documents, credit cards and currencies. It is illegal to take any objects found in archeological sites or any natural resources from any of the national parks, ecological reserves, protectorates or any other sites visited.

        Cancellation / Modifications By The Traveler

        In case of cancellation, the Traveller, even in cases of events outside of their control. The minimum cancellation fees are as follows:

        • a) 121 days or more prior to departure: 1st deposit 
        • b) 91 to 120 days prior to departure: 50% of trip package
        • c) 46 to 90 days prior to departure:75% of trip package
        • d) 45 days or fewer prior to departure: 100% of package
      • These prices include

        • The international flights from Montreal;
        • Alyra’s CO (Creative Organizer) accompanying the group 24/7;
        • Local transportation;
        • Lodging: multiple occupancy for students;
        • Lodging: single occupancy for supervisors;
        • Food: 3 meals a day (local authentic food will be served);
        • Potable water during the trip;
        • Non-alcoholic drinks and potable water during meals;
        • Activities/visits mentioned with local guides (when mentioned);
        • Tips to local guides, drivers, restaurants, etc.;
        • Entrance tickets for museums, parks, sites, etc mentioned in the itinerary ;
        • 0.01% for the OPC’s FICAV (Consumer Protection Office) tax;
        • Insurance Package with Manulife: Youth Exclusive plan – Medical, Interruption and Cancelation coverage.
